Getting started
First-run setup
Walk through choosing a Library, enabling agents, adding a Workspace, reviewing existing configuration, and confirming VisuAgent Manager is ready to use.
On first launch without an active Library, VisuAgent Manager opens a guided setup. The steps are:
- Choose a Library
- Confirm agents
- Add a Workspace (optional)
- Review existing configuration (optional)
- Finish setup
You can leave setup and return later; without an active Library the app routes back to setup when you open primary destinations.
1. Choose a Library
A Library is a folder on this device that stores reusable configuration files.
- Create Library: pick an empty or new folder Visu will manage as Library content.
- Open existing Library: select a folder that already contains Visu Library content (for example after cloning a team Library).
After you create or open a Library, the active Library name appears in the setup summary. Continue only after an active Library is set.
2. Confirm agents
Enable the coding agents you actually use on this computer.
- Review each agent row and its high-level capability summary.
- Toggle agents on or off. Changes save to application settings.
- Continue when at least one agent is enabled.
Enabling an agent does not invent unsupported features. Compatibility still depends on feature and scope; see Supported agents.
3. Add a Workspace (optional)
Workspaces are registered project folders that can receive project-scoped configuration.
- Choose Add Workspace and select a project directory, or
- Choose Skip for now if you only need Global (user-level) assignments for the moment
You can register additional Workspaces later from Workspaces → Manage Workspaces.
4. Review existing configuration (optional)
Visu can compare the active Library with enabled agent files before writing anything.
- Open Library and review: start the same safe detection flow available from Library synchronization.
- Review later: defer detection; Home may still surface it as a next action for the session.
Conflicts and external-only items require explicit review decisions before apply.
5. Finish setup
Continue to Home when the Library and agents are ready. From Home and Library you can:
- Create or import configuration items
- Assign items to Global or Workspaces
- Run synchronization and review results in Activity
Confirm successful discovery
A healthy first-run ends with:
- An active Library name in the header
- At least one enabled agent in Settings → Agents
- Optional Workspaces visible under Workspaces
- Ability to open Library and see item types (MCP servers, skills, and so on)
If agents, projects, or items are missing, see Troubleshooting.
